Dilkusha (Palace of Heart’s Delight), is located on the edge of the village of Mendocino in California. Overlooking state park on two sides, this beautifully remodeled Victorian home is unlike any other located within the historical town limit. Victorian on the outside and loft-like and modern on the inside, this artist’s home has unobstructed views to the Pacific Ocean to the west and the north. Spectacular sunsets and whale watching from the deck, jacuzzi, and most parts of the house - make the experience of staying here all the more special. Beautiful walks around the headlands, the village, local beaches and surrounding areas are all accessible from the front door. Although private and quiet, you are just a few minutes’ walk from the best restaurants in town, and a block away from the Mendocino Art Center and local theater.

Originally built in 1887, Dilkusha has been spotted in many films shot here in Mendocino, most notably The Summer of 42. We are just a few houses west from The Blair House, Angela Landsbury’s home made famous in the long running TV series Murder She Wrote.

On the ground floor, the kitchen, dinning, sitting and TV lounge all open up to each other under high-vaulted ceilings. The bathroom, with a six-foot long clawfoot tub looking out across the park to the ocean, and large glassblock shower, has direct access to the downstairs bedroom. The second level houses a 600 square foot master suite with a kingsize bed and beautiful views to the south, west and north of the state park, village, and Pacific Ocean.

Dilkusha is not a short term vacation rental, but a private home available for 30 days or more at different times throughout the year. Price available upon request. Click button below, to request more information.
